Picturing your orgasming face is arousing in itself. You always look so pretty when you come.

Yes, I am. I haven't even taken my underwear off, I am just stroking myself desperetely, imagining it's your amazing mouth. Would you put your gorgeous tits around it? Leave the tip peeking out for you to lick?

Jaskier bites his pillow as he comes all over his sheets, not even caring about the stain right now. It turns out it's true: sex does help with headaches - he feels so much better.

He takes a few seconds to bask in the afterglow before texting her again.

Fuck. That was a good one. The image of you with my seed on your tits is going to haunt me. How am I supposed to go to class with that in my mind?

Something that will kill my boner? But I am trying to forget my argument with your father!

This Friday at Elftown. Starts at 6pm, but I'll be there very early since I'll be rehearsing with the band for the wedding. So you can come by whenever you like. Perdita will be at the door, you can drop Susie's business card or yours there.

Oh, before I forget - don't make jokes about Perdita's beard? Or at least, ask first. Dwarves are sensitive about their beards and this world hasn't been kind in that regard.

I was trying to make a joke about your father being the perfect boner killer. I almost used Joel, but as annoyed as I may be by his attitude, I also can't deny he's cute.

Right now? Midge, I'm quite sure women with beards have never in style around here.

If it made you happy, then it was worth it. And I got to try your brisket, which was indeed amazing.

You can't tell him I said that.

Yes, Perdita is a delightful dwarven woman. All dwarves have beards regardless of gender.

I was being a fucking saint until it all went to shit. I believe I get points for trying. Yes, of course! I'll let you know as soon as I find a day that Yennefer isn't too tired - putting the spell on your suitcase will take some energy.

Jaskier's week is incredibly busy again, but honestly, he loves it. Well, the dealing with the clients part not so much. But the classes, the composing, the rehearsing? Ah, it feels good to be creatively active. And with Midge keeping up with their silly chats throughout the day, Jaskier stays in a great mood.

When Midge shows up at Elftown on Friday, she'll find Perdita sweeping the reception and setting up a lectern. As Jaskier mentioned, she has a very long beard, but it is nicely braided and has cute beads on it that match her lovely dress.

"Oh, hello," she says when she sees Midge. Her smile is friendly, but she sounds confused. "Are you here for the art jam?" She has trouble believing that - Midge looks like a lady, not like the hippies and alternative artists that usually attend these things. "It starts in a couple of hours."

Perdita perks up as soon as she hears the name. "Midge! Oh, it's so nice to finally meet you! Welcome, welcome!" She grabs Midge's hand and enthusiastically shakes it. "Jaskier has talked so much about you! Just a second, I gotta-"

She rushes behind the reception desk and takes out two things: a clear plastic box that she puts on top of the desk, and a guest book that she puts down on the lectern. Perdita goes through a bunch of pages from previous jams to find a clean one, and if Midge pays attention, she'll notice tons of doodles and poems left by artists. When she finally finds the clean page with today's date, she turns to Midge again.

"Business cards on the box. If you don't have any, you can write down your number when you sign the book. It can just be a little message, but--" Suddenly, she looks a bit bashful. "A joke would be welcome too."

Once Midge has signed, Perdita guides her inside. "I'm still setting things up, so I hope you don't mind the mess."

To be fair, it's not that messy - the place is clean, it just needs preparation. Chairs are still on top of the tables, and there are a bunch of boxes with different things: huge paint-stained sheets, ashtrays, chalk in every color, and paint-stained water pots. Jaskier's voice can be heard even before they reach the main area.

"In what world is that a C minus?!"

Perdita shakes her head. "Musicians." But she sounds fond.

The actual mess is on the stage and the floor in front of it: paper. Paper everywhere.

Sheet music, to be exact. With lots of notes, cross out words, and rewritten lyrics. Sometimes they're just paper balls. At least eight different pens. There's a small table in front of the stage, too, filled with empty glasses and snack plates.

On the drums, there's a human man with a mighty mustache and a cigarette problem. A human woman with a pixie cut holds a sax. A lovely elven girl sits at the piano, and the elven boy, who is obviously her twin, sits on a stool with a bass. As for Jaskier... the thing about his meetings with Midge in public so far, is that they were short before they turned into sex. But if Jaskier spends too long at a party or bar, the same thing always happens: the buttons of his collar become annoying. Today isn't the exception: his long jacket is hanging on the microphone stand, his sleeves are already rolled, and his tie is loose. At least the smoky makeup is on point.

They don't see Midge because they're busy discussing some corrections to a song. There's not enough time to write and practice a whole set of new songs, many of their tunes at the wedding will be popular things from the radio. But practicing those has taught Jaskier enough to write a few new things that match the local music. With the help of the band, he's found a style that he likes and can call his. Once they agree on the new words, Jaskier sits on a wooden box with his guitar and they start playing the new song from the beginning. Jaskier's lovely voice echoes in the bar and the other musicians (except for the sax player, for obvious reasons) provide backup vocals. They need a bit of practice to reach perfect harmony, but they're still damn good.

"You would?" Perdita is so relieved. "Oh, thank you so much! You truly are a sweetheart!" Implying someone called her that before. Who could that possibly be.

The band plays that same song two more times, with a few arguments in between. That's the nature of practice. Perdita giggles at Midge's lovestruck expression and casually guides her through what needs to be done. The big sheets are put down on an empty area where painters will put their things (she explains how hard it was to remove the paint from the floor, which is why they started this). Water pots are filled and left on a table that they move to that area. The chalk is put on a bowl on a stool next to a black wall that can be used as a board. Chairs are brought down from the tables and ashtrays are spread.

They need to move the table in front of the stage, since that's the area for dancing. Perdita asks Midge to help take away the glasses and plates, but she knows better than touching the sheet music.

The band has changed to an Elvis song by the time Perdita interrupts them.

"Time to move your butts or I'll use all these papers for the grill!"

This finally makes them snap out of their little world and turn to look at the bar.

"Perdita, dear, you wouldn't--" Jaskier's eyes widen. "Midge?!" The band gasps when they hear the name, clearly recognizing it. "Fuck, when did you get here?"

Jaskier puts down his guitar to jump off the stage and welcome Midge with a hug and a kiss to her cheek. The other musicians are waving at her and grinning, saying things like about time we put a face to the name.

"As a musician, I really appreciate it. As your friend, I'm offended. Offended, I say!" He puts a hand on his chest, clearly exaggerating. He turns to Perdita. "You kidnapped her, didn't you?"

"You can be dramatic while picking up your shit, Jaskier," Perdita replies while bringing a trash can.

He chuckles while he starts picking up the sheet music from the table and the floor. The sax player has come down to do the same while the others are taking care of the papers on the stage. Every sheet gets a quick look and if it's useful, it gets thrown into the bass or guitar cases. If they're not, they end up in a ball in the trash. Most of it ends up in the trash, that's how many revisions they've done.

"Midge, this is Molly." The sax player gives Midge the once-over, showing that she met Jaskier at Rainbow Road. "This over here is Richard - we call him Dick because he won't put the death stick away." Dick gives Jaskier the finger. "The twins are Carnadhiel and Tarathiel, or Carrie and Tarrie. Their grandfather owns the place." The twins say 'hi' at the same time, and thank goodness they're smiling and pretty, otherwise it would be kinda creepy.

Everyone shakes Midge's hand and is happy to finally meet her; they also thank her for getting them the gig. Jaskier looks at Midge with the bounciness of a puppy. "So you heard the new song? What did you think?"

Perdita beams when Midge says she likes her, and keeps working with a big grin on her face.

The band thanks her for the compliment, explaining how hard it was to find their sound but also how happy they are that they finally have it. Jaskier gets even bouncier at Midge's words, if that's possible.

"Yes!" he exclaims with lots of excited hand gestures. "We'll do covers for the radio and all, but-- fuck, Midge, it feels so fucking good to finally have a local style that I like and can compose to. And I owe it to them." Everyone except Dick goes awww at his comment. "You want to hear more? We really need to practice with an audience." The band actually agrees with that. "Go, go, take a seat, let us serenade you." After kissing Midge's cheek again, he cries out-- "PERDITA! A MARTINI FOR THE LADY!" before running back to the stage.

This time, Jaskier doesn't sit on the box, he stands in front of the stage with his guitar by the microphone stand, which still has his jacket on it. The song is upbeat but still very romantic, and Jaskier looks at Midge while he sings the whole thing, adoration clear in his blue eyes.

Usually, Jaskier makes love to his whole audience, but now Midge is the only one so she gets all his attention. Or that's the excuse he tells himself anyway.

The band thanks her for the compliment, and so does Jaskier. He's grinning from ear to ear and he can't stop looking at her. It really did feel like a very nice serenade for just the two of them, and his heart is beating pretty fast.

"If you're gonna fuck, at least take her backstage," Dick says from behind the drums. None of them is shy, but everyone still turns to him to scold him for ruining the moment.

"We can't even do dirty songs," Molly complains.

Jaskier turns to Midge again, nodding. "Leah told me to keep it clean. Which is fucking ironic considering she was getting her panties wet just by thinking about elves." Molly laughs while the twins complain at Jaskier. "What, I thought the moment was already ruined!"

"Do you think your family will catch on to metaphors?" Molly asks Midge before playing a few notes on her sax.

Jaskier immediately recognizes the song and chuckles before singing: "♫ I'll take you to the candy shop / I'll let you lick the lollipop / Go ahead, don't you stop / Keep going until you hit the spot ♫"
