While Ciri rushes to get her stuff, Jaskier engages in his favorite sport: babbling for a long while about his day while the others just listen. At least today he has Midge to help him tell the story.
Yennefer likes Ciri's brooch a lot and is very curious about the pretty things they saw.
"And I suppose it was very hard to bring souvenirs for everyone?"
Jaskier snorts. "Only good people who leave the house to socialize get souvenirs." He gasps as he remembers something. He reaches in his back pocket for the flyer and hands it to Geralt. "That goes for you, too."
"My brooch would be too much color for her black soul." He's teasing with his choice of words, but he waves his fork to indicate Yennefer's black clothes. She never wears anything else.
Yennefer ignores Jaskier and leans over Geralt's arm to read the flyer too. Geralt is just staring at the piece of paper, his face apparently blank - those who know him can tell he's half baffled, half confused.
"It does sound fitting for you," Yennefer says before going back to her meal.
"I guess..." Geralt still sounds hesitant.
"They want you to tell them about birds from our world," Ciri adds. "And you do want to educate people about monsters, right?"
After a pause, Geralt sighs. "It won't hurt to check them out."
Jaskier and Ciri grin and share a high-five, which makes Geralt shake his head. Ah, family.
Midge grins. That’s actually really sweet that Ciri and Jaskier found something that Geralt might actually be interested in. “Good work, team,” she tells the two of them.
“Jaskier said that you found a coven,” Midge says to Yennefer. “New York really does have everything.”
It has a lot of Otherworlders. It makes sense that they’re forming groups to support each other.
While Geralt gets more meat on his plate, Yennefer nods and sits back, relaxing while whirling the wine in her glass.
"It's been interesting. Each witch's magic works differently. This world is quite confusing so that alone has been the force pushing us to stick together. I hope that harmony lasts."
“Hopefully the government leaves you alone.” Unlikely, if they can’t keep the peace amongst themselves. Otherworlders are watched more carefully than people from this realm are. If they start to cause chaos, they’ll get shut down.
“I haven’t asked,” Midge says to Jaskier. “How’s band practice going?”
Both Jaskier and Geralt snort. Yennefer asks, "Governments that leave you alone exist?"
"You know what would help?" Jaskier asks, trying to make it sound innocent but clearly with a plan in mind. "If you two would get married here, have some nice legal and local paperwork."
Yennefer and Geralt immediately tell Jaskier to shut up and drop the subject, and it seems this has been a repeated argument. Jaskier just mumbles just saying before turning to Midge.
"It's been great! We've finally got a proper selection of songs for the wedding. It was hard to narrow them down. There's only one of mine that's still going through a bit of rewriting, but the rest is going smoothly." He turns Yennefer. "You're portalling us to that wedding, by the way."

That was kind of rude of them to not get anything for Yennefer and Geralt. Whoops.
“You can borrow Jaskier’s peacock brooch anytime,” she says before turning to Geralt. “You family thinks you might enjoy bird watching.”

She sounds skeptical, though.
