She sniffs. “Not at all, bard. You wanted to put your hands all over me from the moment you saw me. You didn’t want me getting distracted by anyone else. Geralt could have kept smelling my horniness if he was going to actually do anything about it.”
Midge puts her lips to Jaskier’s ear. “You were already thinking about all the things you wanted to do to me, weren’t you? Imagining me on top of you, or beneath you…”
Funny how people always want him to behave, but now he's the one being taunted. Jaskier will take no responsibility for the way his hand sneaks under Midge's skirt to caress her thigh - she started it.
"Or with your breasts against the bars as I took you from behind, your moans echoing for the other prisoners to hear," he whispers back. "That's what you want, isn't it? To let the dancers know that you have me now."
She gasps softly at his hand and his words. “Especially if it makes them jealous.”
Reaching down, she puts her hand over his above her skirt. “We can’t,” she murmurs. “It’s too public here.”
It’s hard to sneak off somewhere with Ciri here as well. Is there even a private enough place? The bathrooms in the park aren’t that great for even what they’re supposed to be used for.
He laughs at the idea of women being jealous of the dick Midge's captured. "Does that mean you talked about us off the stage? Casually told stories in the dressing rooms, pretending to be friendly talk but passive-aggressively being very smug?"
Jaskier huffs when her hand stops him, but he's just being dramatic. "You should stop taunting me, then, dear. Or I'll start thinking that my jokes about you torturing aren't jokes after all, and you do want me to suffer."
They should absolutely be jealous. It’s a great dick.
“I’ll stop,” Midge says, resting her head on his shoulder. “I’m not unwilling. The timing just isn’t great.” Maybe when they get back to the house… like that won’t be obvious.
She’s quiet for a second. “Do you still want me to answer your question about the girls?”
"I know, I know. I had to tease." He takes his hand back and rests his head on top of hers while hugging her close. It's a nice moment, just the two of them enjoying the wonderful view of the park.
Her question makes him chuckle. "That's up to you."
Midge is quiet for a moment, just enjoying the breeze and the scenes around them.
“I told them that we’re exclusive now. Most of them are happy for us. I don’t really need for them to be jealous.” She squeezes his hand. “If they are jealous, it’s because I have a man who loves me. And incredible sex.”
"Don't you?" he can't help but ask. He tries to make it sound like teasing, but there's no denying he's a little skeptical. Jaskier bets she loves having things that nobody else can, like a very exclusive dress. To be fair, he loves being a special snowflake, too.
"That does sound wondrous. You'll have to introduce me to this man sometime."
"I knew it," he replies as he laughs pretty damn hard. He's happy to confirm he's read her well.
His ego does appreciate the rubbing, as proved by the way he grins and preens like the peacock he is. He kisses her softly before answering. "That does sound about right. Only a man like that could have such a beautiful, smart, witty, and caring woman."
Midge hums happily and returns the kiss. “That’s why we’re perfect for each other. I love you so much. You’re the best thing to happen to me in a long time.”
She wants him to know how much he means to her, because sometimes it seems like he almost expects her to change her mind about him. She’s not going to. This relationship might not be forever, but it’s not a fling to Midge either. She’s serious about him, because he’s a wonderful person and he’s worth it.
She's so incredibly sweet, and her words make him feel all warm and fuzzy inside, like a silly teenager. Jaskier smiles and cups her face, softly rubbing her cheek with his thumb.
"I love you, too, darling. You brighten my days." He pecks her nose and keeps his tone light as he speaks. It's not true scolding, but he doesn't want to let that bit go, either. "But that 'long time' better be an exaggeration, because I won't let you put me above your discovery of the stage."
“Well, yes. That was a great thing too. It’s different though, isn’t it?” Midge looks up at him, her brow slightly furrowed. “I hope I can have a career and a great love.”
It would be lonely if she ever got really famous but had nobody to share it with.
"I hope so, too, dear." And he means it. There's a difference between what he wants to happen and what he thinks it will.
The ride comes to an end and Jaskier is a total gentleman as he helps Midge get off. Since they'll have to find Ciri, poor Midge is stuck carrying the pie, and Jaskier is careful when he wraps an arm around her as they walk.
"Do you think that thing will actually get home in one piece?"
His words sour what had started as a romantic carriage ride. It’s as if he doesn’t think he has any control over what happens between them. She doesn’t want to have an argument about it now though, so she puts on a smile.
“Hopefully,” Midge replies. “Otherwise, we’ll eat the crumbs. Are you ready to go home?”
"Let's see what the princess has to say about it," he replies as he watches Ciri run toward them in the distance.
He decides to stop walking so they can protect the pie a little more and wait for her under a huge tree. That's when Jaskier notices a bunch of people with binoculars - bird watchers, but he doesn't know that. He looks up and gets very confused when he doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary in the sky.

“Oh, he’s great. Very handsome, loving, supports me and my career, makes me laugh, talented as well…”
Way to puff up his ego, Midge.
