This is killing Jaskier's curiosity. She could tell him what a fascinator is before choosing the dress! But then all the dresses are out and damn it, he's distracted. They're pretty and he wants to admire them.
After a very thoughtful look, he reaches into his suitcase and looks for a specific look of his, which he puts down next to her deep maroon dress.
Midge looks at his outfit next to her dress and grins. “Joel never cared about matching me,” she says. “He never wanted to.” They’re going to be the best dressed couple at the overpriced hotel restaurant.
“A fascinator…” She says as she starts to pull a few of them out of her suitcase, “is like a small hat.” Midge picks up a cream colored one that sits across the top of the head. “I thought I could wear it behind the braid.”
"You should've put that on the divorce paperwork," he teases as he leans in to kiss her cheek. He knows she can joke about Joel nowadays, but better be safe than sorry and throw some affection in case she needs the comfort anyway.
The fact that he's naked and she's in a bikini while looking at fancy clothes makes it funnier.
"Oh, those are lovely!" He's seen them before, even on her own head, he just didn't know the right term. "It's a great idea, please crown the braid." He grabs a blue fascinator and puts it on top of his head, hoping it matches his eyes as he bats his eyelashes. "I'm going to take a very quick shower to get rid of the salt and the sand - unless you want the shower first?"
“I should have,” she agrees, grateful for the affection. Maybe Jaskier doesn’t know how rare he is. He’s one of a kind.
She snorts when he puts on the fascinator, standing there naked with a ladies’ hat on.
“You can go first. I should call Mama and Papa and see what time they’re planning on getting here tomorrow. I’d offer to get in there with you, but then we might never make it to dinner.”
One of a kind indeed. And people in both worlds are grateful that there aren't more of him.
"Good luck with that," he responds to the mention of her parents. The ass grab makes him laugh, and he shakes it for her before going to the bathroom.
His shower is surprisingly quick, Geralt wouldn't believe it if told. He returns to the bedroom while drying his hair and notices that Midge is still on the phone... so he grins and starts humming a naughty song.
(He hopes Midge told them about the room and Rose is green with envy.)

She holds it up over her head to show him.

“Yes, Mama,” she says, rolling her eyes. “I’ll make sure they don’t put you on the ground floor… okay… see you for lunch tomorrow… love you too.”
Finally hanging up the phone, she lets out a sigh.
